Sistine Chapel artwork will be closer — and with no neck strain

Memphians can experience one of Rome’s most famous sites without ever leaving the Bluff City when “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” comes to the Renasant Convention Center beginning in May.

The exhibit features Michelangelo’s paintings from the Sistine Chapel reproduced as high-definition photographic prints, showing the artist’s 34 frescoes in detail.

“It’s unlike a lot of things that we’ve seen in the city,” said Amanda Hurd, convention center marketing manager. “Whether you have a deep appreciation for art or not, it’s going to be an eye-catching, exciting thing to see.”
