Mark your calendars! On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the National Civil Rights Museum will unveil its newly expanded and reimagined Legacy Experience, a transformative exploration of civil rights history from 1968 to the present day.
Join us for the Legacy Community Opening Celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Legacy Building and Founders Park. The day will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, storytelling, children's activities, and much more.
This reopening marks the Museum's 35th anniversary and the centerpiece of its Legacy Year, honoring three and a half decades of preserving history and inspiring action.
"As we mark 35 years, we are not only preserving history, we are activating it."
Dr. Russ Wigginton, President, National Civil Rights Museum
