DMC Incentives at Work: Building Downtown — $20 Million in Investment
In 2024, the Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC) leveraged just $600,000 in incentives to generate over $20 million in new investments—a momentum that continues into 2025. Through strategic incentives and redevelopment support, the DMC has played a vital role in launching new businesses, revitalizing vacant properties, and assisting small businesses in expanding throughout the Downtown core.
Recent highlights include the openings of Memphis Filling Station, After Burners Cigar Lounge, Zio Matto Gelato, and the much-anticipated return of Felicia Suzanne’s. New dining spots like JEM Dining have added fresh energy to Downtown’s growing culinary offerings.
DMC also has programs like Open on Main and Table Ready that help recruit entrepreneurs and small businesses by reducing barriers, activating available spaces, and enhancing Downtown Memphis’s overall vibrancy.
