Efforts to revitalize Mud Island Amphitheater overcome hurdles
The group, Save Mud Island & the Amphitheater, is working to host what they call a Comeback Concert Series. It would be a three-day event highlighting different Memphis Artists while also showing the amphitheater is still usable.
“This is music and Memphis is music," Jerred Price, President of the Downtown Memphis Neighborhood Association, told FOX13.
While there is a lot of support for this concert, Memphis Mayor Paul Young has the final say on if it'll actually happen. Mayor Young's administration has some concerns over the venues structural stability and if it can accommodate people with disabilities.
