Longtime finance exec heads up vital Downtown org
In the nonprofit sector, you often have to wear many different hats. That’s long been the case for Art Davis, who now has another hat: acting CEO of the Memphis River Parks Partnership (MRPP).
“I was hired as the director of accounting, and, before I knew it, I had on a hard hat out there with a weed-eater in my hand and a backpack on my back,” Davis told MBJ. “If anybody was down here in December, I even wore a Santa hat.”
Davis joined MRPP in 2019 to oversee its accounting functions. He then worked in field operations, eventually assuming the role of COO. Davis led the $61 million Tom Lee Park redevelopment project.
