This Halloween, go Irish. Head downtown for the Memphis Samhain Irish Festival, hosted by Irish Network Memphis and The Brass Door Irish Pub.

On Saturday, October 31, Madison Avenue Park and The Brass Door fill up from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a full day of Irish culture. Things kick off with an opening parade. From there: dancers from the Inis Acla School of Irish Dance, a céilí (Irish folk) dance demonstration, a Gaelic sports skills demo and scoring competition you can jump into, and live music from Dean Harlem and Dermot & The Pints. Add Irish film, food and a pint, and you've got a Halloween plan for the whole family!

Admission is free. Under 18 with a parent or guardian.

Want to make a full weekend of it? The Samhain Whiskey Pairing Dinner at The Brass Door on Friday, October 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. serves four Samhain-inspired courses from Chef Patrick Reilly of The Majestic Grille, a County Kildare native, with Irish whiskey and wine pairings.
