Community Cleanup & Bike Sweeper Unveiling

Join us for a historic day in Memphis cycling! On June 20th, we're taking to the streets with our city's first-ever community street sweeper — and you're invited to be part of the inaugural ride.

What to Expect: Cyclists and community supporters will gather for a community ride-and-clean event, putting our brand-new bike sweeper to work on Memphis streets. This free, bike-hitchable attachment lets everyday cyclists clear debris from bike lanes and shared paths — no special equipment or city contracts needed, just neighbors helping neighbors.

The Big Reveal: This is more than just a cleanup day — it's a celebration! We'll be unveiling the official name of our street sweeper, chosen by YOU through our community naming competition. Find out which name won and meet your new community asset!

Why This Matters: Memphis has invested significantly in bike infrastructure, but cyclists know the reality: rocks, broken glass, and debris make for rough rides and flat tires. This sweeper puts practical street maintenance directly in the hands of the people who feel the problem most.

Made Possible By: This initiative was made possible through a grant from the League of American Bicyclists, with support from the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, Downtown Memphis Commission, and Innovate Memphis/Street Fair Memphis.
