Build-a-Block[Party]: From Idea to Impact

Have an idea that could bring people together in your neighborhood? Let’s build it!

Build-a-Block[Party] is a hands-on neighborhood activation course designed to help everyday people turn creative ideas into meaningful community events. No event planning experience is needed. Just bring your ideas, creativity and love for community.

In our first session, we’ll explore the foundations of creating an event with purpose. Participants will begin developing their event vision, identifying the community they want to engage and thinking intentionally about the experience they want to create.

This session will cover:

  • Introduction to neighborhood activation and community-centered events
  • Turning an idea into a clear event concept
  • Identifying your audience and community
  • Defining the purpose and vision for your event
  • Building experiences that encourage connection and participation

Saturday, September 19 | 11 AM–2 PM
Cossitt Library | 33 S. Front Street

Come with an idea or come ready to discover one. We’ll build from there.

Important: This is a 3-Part Series

Build-a-Block[Party] is designed as a three-part learning experience, with each session building on the one before it. By registering, participants are committing to attend all three sessions: September 19, October 17 and November 21.

Because each session introduces new tools and information needed for the next stage of the course, attendance at all three sessions is strongly encouraged and expected. If you miss a session, there is no guarantee that the instructor will be able to repeat the class or provide an individual make-up session.

Please review all three dates before registering and make sure you’re able to commit to the full series.
