Black Joy in Spite Of ... is a powerful exhibition exploring the creativity, resilience, and cultural expression that have sustained generations through struggle and triumph. Through photography, storytelling, and immersive experiences, visitors are invited to witness how joy became an act of resistance.
On Friday, June 12, we invite you to celebrate Black Joy with scheduled activities including:
- 12 pm & 2 pm – Curator Tour with Brigette Jones, Frist Museum
- 3 pm – DJ set featuring South Memphis Jeff
- Ongoing – Art-making inspired by artist TC, Black Joy postcards community playlist.
