In memory of Martha Banyas and in celebration of the recent growth in our enamel holdings, the Metal Museum invites you to participate in an Enameled Community Quilt. The project echoes the spirit and intentions behind the AIDS Memorial Quilt project and recent Cancer Quilt projects.

This collaborative endeavor invites enamel artists, museum visitors, and students to creatively express ideas about health, spirituality, and the body. Participants in this enameling class will each create a 4”x4” copper enameled square that will be added to a 3’x4’ quilt displayed in our Learning Space from July to September 2024. Enameled squares will be returned to participants after the exhibition. Proceeds from this class will support free enameling classes offered to community members from local medical and healing centers.
