The Neptune Cinema 53-Hour Film Challenge invites Memphis filmmakers to create an original short film (up to 7 minutes) in just 53 hours, fostering creativity and collaboration in the local indie film scene.
From September 19, 2025, at 7:00 PM, registered teams will kick off at Flyway Brewing Company, writing, shooting, editing, and scoring their films by midnight on September 21.
A public screening and awards ceremony will follow at 6:00 PM on September 26 at Flyway Brewing Company.
Judged by industry experts Courtney Fly, former head programmer for Crosstown Theater, and Joey Carr, formerly of Indie Memphis Film Fest, the winning team will receive a year-long membership with The Auteur Club and a 30-minute film business consultation. Sponsored by On Location Memphis, Flyway Brewing Company, Memphis Music BANQ, and The Auteur Club, this event promises to inspire and elevate local talent.
