Featuring George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, Darrell Grand Moultrie’s Lineage, Kevin Thomas’ Rise, and a world premiere by Donald Byrd inspired by the Harlem Renaissance, RISE honors the artists and visionaries whose courage continues to expand what ballet can be.
"WE DID NOT ARRIVE HERE ALONE.
EVERY STEP CARRIES THE IMPRINT OF THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE US.
THE DREAMERS, THE BUILDERS, THE ARTISTS WHO IMAGINED A FUTURE THEY MIGHT NEVER SEE.
EVERY GENERATION IS ASKED THE SAME QUESTION: WHAT WILL YOU LEAVE BEHIND?"
