Hear the stories of educators and raise a toast to the 2026 New Memphis Educators of Excellence winners!

Join New Memphis and Spillit for a Center Stage event - an evening of stories from educators that speak to the theme, "Lesson Plan."  

This free event is open to all community members - you do not need to be an educator to attend! Light refreshments and drinks will be provided. We hope you come celebrate the start of a new school year with us by listening to these powerful stories and celebrating our new winners.

Storytellers include:

• Claire D. Kolheim (she/her/hers), 12th grade math teacher at Memphis Rise Academy
• Stephanie Sacco (she/her/hers), Kindergarten teacher at Idlewild Elementary
• Ricardo Trejo (he/him/his), 5th grade ELA teacher at Kingsbury Elementary
• Timothy Woods (he/him/his), Algebra I teacher at Memphis East High School
