Community grocery store near Downtown reopens with new vision
Bobby and Derravia Rich are the founders of Black Seeds Urban Farm, a community garden in the Uptown neighborhood of Downtown.
Bobby said gardening can be challenging. In the past, it's been carrots and onions that have given him the most anxiety.
"There's only so much we can do," Bobby said. "A lot of it is just us praying to the soil and hoping everything works out."
This season, Bobby had some success with his onions, and now the Riches have planted seeds of a different sort. They've taken over the Roxie's Grocery space at 520 N. 3rd St. in partnership with The Works.
