Downtown Memphis tourism rebounds after pandemic
Memphis is seeing a resurgence in tourism after pandemic-era declines, with visitors returning to Beale Street, the most visited attraction in downtown.
Coach John Kirkpatrick and the Trinity High School Raiders from Whitesville, Kentucky, are in town for Coach Penny Hardaway’s basketball camp at the University of Memphis.
The team spent its’ free day exploring Beale, trying the food and enjoying live music.
“We’re in a pretty rural area in Western Kentucky, and we thought we needed to get our guys out of Whitesville and down to Memphis, get a little bit of culture and play some great talent,” Kirkpatrick said.
