Entrepreneur launches creative workshops after opening Monroe Ave. storefront
When Valencia Leonard's son was about one year old, he was having issues with his skin. The doctor prescribed a topical steroid cream for him. Leonard was wary about putting chemicals on her son when he was so young, so she began to research home remedies. She went to a store that sold natural botanical products. She looked at YouTube videos. Then, she made her own version.
"That's where it started," Leonard said of her business, Oh Sweets Natural Skin Care. "I made a product. It worked. It helped my son."
