Memphis in May’s Great American River Run goes virtual
Bad weather has forced the 10th annual Great American River Run to go virtual.
The event, which marks the end of the Memphis in May International Festival, had been scheduled for this morning, Saturday, May 24, in Downtown Memphis. More than 1,400 runners were set to navigate routes along the Mississippi River, but heavy rain and lightning moved things indoors.
“We’re saddened that we had to go virtual,” Memphis in May CEO Mack Weaver said. “But we’re happy we were able to offer the participants an alternative.”
