National Civil Rights Museums pay homage to the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Nearly 200 people gathered inside the National Civil Rights Museum on Friday evening to remember civil rights advocate the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on the anniversary of his tragic death.

The museum's "Remembering MLK: The Man. The Movement. The Moment" event was relocated indoors due to severe weather sweeping through the Mid-South. However, the relocation did not dampen the spirits and voices inside.

"It is time to resurrect our faith in democracy," said State Representative Justin J. Pearson, D-Memphis. "Time to resurrect the values of this democratic republic."
