New art gallery to start Downtown test run
Local artist Andre LeMoyne Miller will open an art gallery Saturday, May 31, as part of the Downtown Memphis Commission’s Open on Main initiative.
The DMC announced Friday, May 30, the opening of the 1,000-square-foot Gallery Albertine at 55 S. Main St. through the initiative, which offers rent-free short-term leases to emerging retailers in Downtown.
“Gallery Albertine brings new artistic energy to Downtown Memphis and continues the momentum of creative entrepreneurs transforming the Main Street Mall,” according to a DMC news release. “The mission of the space is to foster a New Memphis Art Renaissance, amplifying the voices and talents of local creatives.”
