New restaurant coming to former Hooters space in Downtown Memphis
The former Hooters restaurant site in Downtown Memphis will have a tenant soon.
Alabama-based Wintzell's Oyster House is moving into the 250 Peabody Place site. John Elkington of Elkington Real Estate Group said a restaurant lease for the space was signed on April 14.
Elkington said Wintzell's is planning for a June opening, with the next steps securing the restaurant's alcohol license. The 6,700-square-foot restaurant, which includes an outdoor patio, has been vacant since June 2025.
