The Downtown Memphis Commission's affiliate boards have recently approved grants and incentives for transformative projects, furthering downtown’s revitalization. These initiatives aim to enhance vibrancy, support local businesses, and create a dynamic urban core.
The Juke @ Biscuits & Jams has received a Special Development Grant to support the completion of the speakeasy beneath the Hotel Indigo. Located in the former Memphis Sounds Lounge space, the owner aims to revive this historic venue.
An Exterior Improvement Grant was recently approved for the former Murdock Printing building at 430 Monroe Ave. The planned renovations will replace outdated windows, add new storefronts, and enhance the streetscape with improved lighting and greenery, revitalizing the building’s exterior and contributing to the area’s overall appeal.
Downtown Memphis Commission's Center City Development Corporation board approved the formation of, 250 North Main LLC, which will hold the title for the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel, until redevelopment starts.
A Good Neighbor Grant has been approved for 849 Jackson Ave to support the renovation of a 1,200-square-foot building. The updates will focus on enhancing the property’s exterior, including sidewalk repairs, adding walkways, and enclosing the garage door on the front façade.Additionally, a Good Neighbor Grant has been approved for 492 Vance to assist with exterior renovations to improve the property’s appearance and functionality.
