What's that happening at the former The Walk site in Downtown Memphis?
The 29-acre Union Avenue site has new ownership and some new design plans.
On Dec. 10, the Greater Memphis Chamber announced plans for an innovation district at the former The Walk development site. Houston-based Legacy Power Capital is planning to build a cloud service data center, hotel and mixed-use campus at the site.
The announcement came during the Greater Memphis Chamber's annual Chairman's Circle luncheon.
According to Legacy Power Capital's website, the proposed Downtown Memphis development would include an 800-room hotel, 700 residential units, 200,000 square feet of retail and a 125,000-square-foot innovation center. The latter is a cloud data center and center of what the developers call a "Neural Nexus."
